Job Description:
The Academic Success Coach in Ajman supports students in achieving their academic goals by fostering essential skills in organization, motivation, self-discipline, and academic planning. Typically based within universities or higher education institutions, the coach works with students to assess learning habits, identify obstacles to success, and develop tailored strategies to improve academic performance and student retention.
Key duties include conducting one-on-one coaching sessions to help students set academic goals, improve study techniques, manage workloads, and maintain a balanced academic life. The coach also offers group workshops on time management, test preparation, learning styles, and overcoming procrastination. In collaboration with faculty and academic advisors, the coach monitors student progress, identifies at-risk students, and provides timely interventions to prevent academic failure or withdrawal.
This role also involves working closely with student affairs and wellness teams to ensure students receive comprehensive support. The coach must demonstrate a strengths-based, student-centered approach, helping students develop confidence and a growth mindset.
Job Requirement:
Candidates should have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or related fields. At least 2 years of experience in academic advising, coaching, or higher education student support is expected. Strong communication, coaching, and organizational skills are essential, along with familiarity with academic planning tools and learning analytics. Candidates must demonstrate empathy, discretion, and motivational strategies tailored to diverse student populations.
