Job Description:
The Academic Research Specialist in Dubai is responsible for conducting, managing, and supporting scholarly research initiatives within academic institutions or education policy organizations. This role contributes to the advancement of knowledge by facilitating faculty research projects, preparing academic publications, and ensuring compliance with ethical standards and funding regulations.
Key responsibilities include developing research proposals, collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, and preparing reports, papers, or journal submissions. The specialist also assists faculty in grant writing, institutional research projects, and literature reviews. They maintain databases, manage institutional review board (IRB) documentation, and support academic conferences and knowledge-sharing events.
The Academic Research Specialist is expected to stay updated with current research methodologies, statistical tools, and publication requirements in various academic fields. They may also provide training to students or junior researchers on research methods and software such as SPSS, R, or NVivo. Their role is critical in driving data-informed decisions in curriculum development, academic performance monitoring, and policy formulation.
Job Requirement:
A master’s or doctoral degree in Education, Social Sciences, or a related research-intensive field is required. At least 3–5 years of experience in academic or applied research, ideally within a university or research center, is expected. Proficiency in research design, data analysis, and scholarly writing is essential. The candidate should be well-versed in research ethics, grant writing, and academic publishing. Fluency in English is required; Arabic proficiency is advantageous for regional data collection and community engagement.
