Job Description:

The Academic Dean in Ajman is a top-tier academic executive responsible for providing leadership across all academic programs within a university college or division. The Dean plays a central role in shaping academic policy, leading faculty teams, guiding research initiatives, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality education that aligns with institutional goals and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities include overseeing curriculum development, quality assurance, and teaching standards; managing faculty hiring, mentoring, and evaluations; leading accreditation and compliance efforts; and guiding research priorities. The Dean sets academic strategies, allocates resources effectively, and monitors the academic performance of departments under their supervision. They also ensure the integration of innovative teaching technologies and promote student-centered approaches across all programs.

Externally, the Dean represents the institution in academic forums, government relations, and industry partnerships. Internally, they work with the Vice Chancellor, faculty councils, and administrative units to foster a vibrant academic culture, advance equity and inclusion, and develop long-term growth plans for academic programs.

Job Requirement:

A doctoral degree in a related academic field is required, along with 10–15 years of experience in teaching and academic administration, including prior leadership at the department head or associate dean level. The candidate must have a deep understanding of higher education governance, accreditation (e.g., CAA, international standards), and strategic academic planning. Demonstrated leadership in faculty development, interdisciplinary collaboration, and quality education delivery is essential. Strong communication, decision-making, and cross-cultural skills are required. English fluency is essential; Arabic is a plus.
