Job Description:
The Clothing Folding Assistant plays a key role in the apparel production and retail preparation process by ensuring that garments are folded to professional, uniform standards before packaging or display. This role involves folding shirts, pants, dresses, and other clothing items according to specific size, brand, or packaging instructions. The assistant must work quickly and accurately to maintain production output and visual consistency. Responsibilities include inspecting garments for defects before folding, removing loose threads or tags, and ensuring each piece is neat and presentable. The role may also involve placing folded garments into polybags or boxes, affixing size stickers, and preparing them for storage or shipment.
Working in coordination with packing and labeling teams, the Clothing Folding Assistant contributes to maintaining quality control and production efficiency. The job is highly repetitive and requires standing or sitting for extended periods. The assistant must keep the folding area clean, manage daily folding targets, and comply with safety and hygiene protocols. Time management and the ability to handle workload fluctuations are critical, especially during peak production seasons. While automated folding aids may be used, much of the work is still manual, making precision and consistency vital for success in this role.
Job Requirement:
A secondary school certificate or equivalent is generally required. Previous experience in garment folding, packing, or retail clothing preparation is an advantage but not mandatory. Candidates must demonstrate good manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to follow visual or written folding guidelines. Basic communication skills in English are necessary for understanding instructions and collaborating with team members. Physical stamina is important due to repetitive hand movements and prolonged periods of standing. A cooperative attitude, punctuality, and a willingness to meet production goals are essential.
