Job Description: A Metering Technician in the Energy & Utilities industry is responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of energy meters and associated equipment. Meter Reading and Data Collection: Collect meter readings manually or using automated systems. Record and document energy consumption data accurately and efficiently. Perform data validation and verification to ensure data integrity. Troubleshooting and Repairs: Identify and resolve metering issues, such as meter malfunctions, communication errors, or power supply problems. Diagnose problems, replace faulty components if necessary, and ensure proper functioning of the metering system. Quality Control and Assurance: Conduct quality checks on metering equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications. Job Requirement: Requirements: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a related field. Previous experience in metering operations, installation, or maintenance is preferred. Familiarity with different types of energy meters, metering protocols, and communication systems. Knowledge of metering principles, accuracy standards, and metrology practices. Proficiency in metering software, data management systems, and related tools. Understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and safety precautions. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and accuracy in data recording and analysis.
