Job Description:
The 3D CAD Designer in Mesaieed, Qatar, plays a key role in creating detailed three-dimensional digital models for shipbuilding projects and marine equipment design. This position involves converting engineering concepts and technical requirements into accurate 3D models that facilitate visualization, fabrication, and assembly processes within shipyards. The designer works closely with naval architects, engineers, and production teams to develop models that comply with marine industry standards and support efficient project execution.
Responsibilities include modeling complex ship components, systems integration, hull structures, and outfitting elements using industry-leading CAD software. The 3D CAD Designer ensures models are precise, production-ready, and incorporate feedback from engineering reviews and regulatory inspections. The role also includes collaboration with digital modeling artists and spatial designers to refine virtual representations for presentations, client approvals, and simulation purposes. Attention to detail, technical proficiency, and effective communication with cross-functional teams are vital to success in this role, which contributes to the advancement of Qatar’s shipbuilding capabilities.
Job Requirement:
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Certification in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or Autodesk Inventor preferred.
Experience: 3–5 years of experience in 3D CAD design within shipbuilding, marine engineering, or industrial manufacturing environments.
Skills:
Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling tools and design software.
Strong spatial visualization and technical drawing interpretation skills.
Knowledge of shipbuilding processes, marine equipment, and regulatory standards.
Ability to incorporate design changes and resolve modeling challenges.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Language: Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are an asset.
