Job Description:
The CAD Design Specialist based in Al Shamal, Qatar, is responsible for creating advanced 3D models and detailed design drawings for shipbuilding projects and marine machinery systems. This role involves transforming conceptual sketches and engineering requirements into precise, manufacturable designs using sophisticated CAD software. The specialist collaborates closely with naval architects, marine engineers, and production teams to ensure designs meet technical specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.
Key responsibilities include developing structural layouts, piping and electrical system designs, machinery placement plans, and hull form modifications. The role also involves performing design validations, integrating design changes, and preparing documentation for production, procurement, and regulatory approval. The CAD Design Specialist ensures designs comply with international maritime standards and ship classification society rules. Additionally, they support prototype development and work with digital modeling teams to enhance shipbuilding efficiency through innovative design solutions.
Job Requirement:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced certification in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA is highly desirable.
Experience: 3–6 years of experience in CAD design within shipbuilding, marine engineering, or heavy industry.
Skills:
Expertise in 3D CAD modeling and design software.
Strong understanding of ship structures, systems integration, and marine machinery.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering data.
Knowledge of maritime industry standards and classification society requirements.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Language: Proficient in English; knowledge of Arabic is beneficial.

Good organizational skills to manage multiple design tasks concurrently.
