Job Description:
The Compliance and Certification Officer based in Doha, Qatar, ensures that all shipbuilding and maritime operations adhere to national regulations, international standards, and classification society requirements. This role involves overseeing certification processes, managing compliance documentation, and conducting audits to verify that vessels and associated equipment meet safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Key responsibilities include coordinating with regulatory authorities, classification societies, and internal teams to prepare for inspections and certifications, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and standards, and advising on regulatory changes impacting ship design and operations. The officer plays a critical role in managing non-compliance issues, developing corrective action plans, and ensuring timely renewal of certificates and permits. This role supports Qatar’s maritime sector by guaranteeing that shipbuilding projects are completed within regulatory frameworks and deliver safe, certified vessels ready for operation.
Job Requirement:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Maritime Law, Quality Assurance, or related field.
Experience: 3–5 years of experience in compliance management, certification, or quality assurance within the maritime or shipbuilding industry.
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of international maritime regulations and classification society requirements (e.g., IMO, SOLAS, ISO).
Experience managing certification processes and regulatory audits.
Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory standards.
Proficient in compliance management software and tools.
Language: Proficient in English; Arabic proficiency is advantageous.
