Job Description:
The Automation Control Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated control systems for shipbuilding projects in Doha. This role focuses on enhancing the operational efficiency, safety, and reliability of ship machinery and systems through advanced automation technologies.
Key responsibilities include developing automation strategies, programming PLCs, configuring SCADA systems, and integrating robotics and process control solutions on marine vessels. The engineer collaborates with mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams to design seamless control architectures aligned with project requirements and maritime standards.
The role involves system testing, troubleshooting automation issues, and optimizing control sequences for improved performance. The engineer oversees installation, commissioning, and maintenance of automation equipment, ensuring compliance with classification society rules and safety regulations.
Regular interaction with shipyard teams and project managers is essential to coordinate system integration and timely project delivery. Staying updated with technological trends in marine automation and implementing best practices are critical for success.
Job Requirement:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical, control, or automation engineering.
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in automation control engineering, preferably in shipbuilding, marine, or heavy industry sectors.
Skills:
Proficiency in PLC programming languages (e.g., Ladder Logic, Structured Text).
Experience with SCADA, HMI, and robotics integration.
Strong understanding of marine automation standards and safety protocols.
Ability to diagnose and resolve complex automation issues.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Language: Proficient in English for technical reporting and collaboration.
