Job Description:
The Accessibility Coordinator in Al Khor is responsible for ensuring that students with disabilities or learning differences have equitable access to educational opportunities across the institution. This role is vital in promoting inclusive practices, implementing accommodations, and supporting students’ academic success through individualized support strategies.
Key responsibilities include assessing students’ accessibility needs, coordinating academic and exam accommodations, facilitating access to assistive technologies, and ensuring compliance with institutional and national inclusion policies. The coordinator collaborates with faculty, student support services, IT teams, and external specialists to promote a barrier-free learning environment.
The Accessibility Coordinator also leads awareness and sensitivity training for staff and students, contributes to inclusive curriculum planning, and monitors the effectiveness of accommodations and support services. This position supports the broader institutional goal of fostering inclusive excellence and diversity in education.
Job Requirement:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Disability Studies, Educational Psychology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years working in student support, special education, or accessibility services within an academic setting.
Skills:
Deep understanding of inclusive education practices and disability accommodations.
Knowledge of assistive technologies and adaptive learning tools.
Strong interpersonal and case management skills.
Ability to interpret documentation and develop individualized support plans.
Training and facilitation skills for raising awareness and promoting inclusion.
Language: Fluency in English required; Arabic proficiency is an asset.
