Job Description:
The Airline Financial Controller in Madinat ash Shamal is responsible for overseeing the financial health and strategic budgeting of airline operations. This role manages all aspects of financial reporting, forecasting, and cost control to support effective decision-making and regulatory compliance in line with Qatar’s aviation industry standards.
Key responsibilities include managing financial statements, supervising monthly and annual closings, analyzing operational expenditures, and coordinating with internal departments to ensure cost efficiency and profitability. The controller also leads the development of capital and operational budgets, manages audits, and enforces financial controls that align with international accounting standards (IFRS).
This position works closely with executive leadership to provide financial insights on fleet investment, route profitability, leasing arrangements, and expansion strategies. The role is instrumental in maintaining the airline’s fiscal integrity and long-term sustainability.
Job Requirement:
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, ACCA, or CMA certification preferred.
Experience:
6–8 years in financial management, with at least 3 years in aviation or transport sector finance.
Proven experience in airline budgeting and cost control.
Skills:
Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
Expertise in IFRS and aviation financial compliance.
Proficient in ERP systems and financial software.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Ability to interpret complex financial data for strategic planning.
Language: Fluent in English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
