Job Description:
The Industrial Electrician plays a crucial role in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment used in shipbuilding and associated industrial operations in Dukhan. This includes power distribution networks, motor controls, switchgear, transformers, and automated machinery essential to the shipyard’s manufacturing processes. The electrician ensures that all electrical systems operate safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime and supporting continuous production.
Responsibilities involve reading electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to execute installations according to design specifications. The electrician diagnoses electrical faults using diagnostic tools, performs preventive maintenance, and undertakes corrective repairs to avoid operational disruptions. They also collaborate with engineers and technicians to optimize electrical system performance and comply with industrial safety standards.
Working environments include indoor workshops, fabrication yards, and ship interiors, often requiring work at heights, in confined spaces, or hazardous areas. The role demands a strong understanding of electrical codes, safety regulations, and hands-on technical skills in industrial electrical systems.
Job Requirement:
Education: Technical diploma or certification in Electrical Engineering or Industrial Electrical Technology.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as an industrial electrician, preferably in shipbuilding, heavy industry, or manufacturing environments.
Skills:
Proficient in interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
Skilled in installing, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial electrical equipment.
Familiarity with motor controls, PLCs, circuit breakers, and power distribution systems.
Knowledge of electrical safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures.
Ability to use electrical testing and diagnostic instruments.
Language: Good English communication skills for technical comprehension and team coordination.
