Job Description:
The Chief Data Officer (CDO) in Sharjah is responsible for establishing and governing the enterprise-wide data strategy to ensure data quality, security, accessibility, and utilization across all business functions. The CDO oversees data management, analytics, data governance, and data monetization initiatives. This role defines the organization’s data vision and works with IT, compliance, operations, and business units to implement data frameworks that support digital transformation, AI adoption, and evidence-based decision-making. The CDO is also accountable for regulatory compliance in data handling (GDPR, UAE data law), data ethics, and cybersecurity integration. Key responsibilities include setting data architecture standards, managing data governance councils, championing a data-driven culture, and overseeing the development of centralized data platforms. The role also involves managing the lifecycle of structured and unstructured data, overseeing metadata management, and enabling data democratization across departments. The CDO serves as the company’s top authority on the strategic value of data.
Job Requirement:
A master’s degree in data science, computer science, or information management is required. A minimum of 12–15 years of experience in data leadership roles, including 5+ years in an executive position, is essential. Expertise in enterprise data architecture, data governance frameworks, and compliance is required. Strong leadership, analytical, and technical communication skills are vital.
