Job Description:
Concrete Spraying Technicians, also known as shotcrete operators, apply sprayed concrete to stabilize mine walls, tunnels, and slopes. This involves operating high-pressure spraying machines, mixing concrete to specification, and applying it to surfaces requiring support or sealing.
They are responsible for equipment setup, spray nozzle control, quality inspection, and surface finishing. The technician must monitor concrete consistency and adjust mixtures as necessary for varied conditions. This role is physically demanding and requires attention to health and safety due to exposure to dust, vibration, and chemicals.
Job Requirement:
Certification in concrete spraying or equivalent field experience.
Familiarity with shotcrete systems and equipment operation.
Experience in underground or tunnel environments.
Understanding of concrete mixing ratios and curing requirements.
Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
Physical strength and stamina.
Commitment to respiratory protection and PPE use.
Precision and consistency in spray application techniques.
