Job Description:
The Conveyor Maintenance Technician in Hawally is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing conveyor systems used in transporting ores and materials across the mining site. This includes belt alignment, motor checks, tension adjustments, roller replacements, and system lubrication. The technician will perform regular inspections, document performance metrics, and identify issues before they result in downtime. The job may also include the installation of new conveyor components and ensuring all safety guards and devices are in place. As conveyors are vital for continuous production, this role is essential for minimizing operational disruptions.
Job Requirement:
Diploma or certification in mechanical maintenance or a related field
Experience with conveyor systems in mining or industrial environments
Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and perform preventative maintenance
Proficiency in reading technical manuals and schematics
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
Strong attention to safety procedures and lockout/tagout policies
Able to lift heavy equipment and work in awkward positions or tight areas
Team player with clear communication and reporting skills
Knowledge of mining operations is a plus
Flexible to work extended shifts and on-call during breakdowns
