Job Description:
Drill Jumbo Technicians are responsible for the operation, servicing, and repair of drill jumbo machines used in underground mining. These machines drill blast holes in rock to facilitate excavation. Technicians ensure machine readiness, monitor drilling progress, and troubleshoot mechanical or hydraulic issues.
Their tasks include bit changes, drill alignment, and fluid level checks. They work closely with geologists and blasting teams to ensure hole accuracy and depth. Regular inspection and preventive maintenance are essential to minimize downtime and ensure safety.
Job Requirement:
Technical training in mechanical, hydraulic, or mining equipment.
Experience operating or maintaining drill jumbos.
Familiarity with underground drilling techniques and safety standards.
Ability to interpret drilling plans and geological maps.
Competency in using diagnostic tools and repair manuals.
Willingness to work in confined and physically demanding environments.
Good hand-eye coordination and mechanical problem-solving.
