Job Description:
Dozer Technicians are responsible for maintaining and repairing bulldozers used in mining operations for land clearing, road building, and material pushing. These machines often work under heavy loads and in harsh conditions, making regular inspection and upkeep crucial. Technicians work on engines, transmissions, undercarriages, hydraulic systems, and blade mechanisms.
Tasks include troubleshooting operational issues, replacing worn parts, calibrating control systems, and performing scheduled maintenance to prevent breakdowns. Technicians may also assist with equipment upgrades and documentation of work completed. The role demands a mix of mechanical expertise and familiarity with electronic diagnostic tools.
Job Requirement:
Vocational training or certification in heavy equipment mechanics or diesel technology.
At least 2–3 years of experience servicing mining dozers such as Caterpillar or Komatsu models.
Strong diagnostic skills in mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems.
Experience with service documentation and computerized maintenance systems.
Physical ability to lift heavy components and work in rugged conditions.
Capability to interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
Knowledge of mine safety regulations and equipment lockout procedures.
Willingness to work in shifts, including emergency repair hours.
