Job Description:
An Exploration Driller performs exploratory drilling to help identify and define mineral deposits. The driller operates surface or underground rigs to drill core, reverse circulation (RC), or rotary holes for geological evaluation.
This role includes setting up drilling sites, collecting and labeling samples, maintaining equipment, and ensuring drilling meets safety and environmental standards. The driller also logs information related to penetration rate, formation changes, and sample recovery.
Working in remote or undeveloped areas, Exploration Drillers face logistical challenges and must be self-sufficient. The information they gather directly informs mine feasibility, design, and investment decisions.
Job Requirement:
Experience with exploration drilling techniques (RC, core, or rotary).
Knowledge of sampling protocols and mineral identification.
Certification in drilling operations or equivalent field training.
Ability to work in isolated and extreme conditions.
Skilled in rig maintenance and troubleshooting.
Competency in record-keeping and basic geological observations.
Physical fitness and stamina for long field deployments.
Awareness of environmental and cultural heritage protections.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Commitment to HSE policies and procedures.
