Job Description:
The Earthmoving Dozer Driver plays a critical role in surface mining operations by operating bulldozers to move soil, rock, and other overburden materials. These drivers are tasked with preparing sites for excavation, maintaining haul roads, leveling ground, building embankments, and clearing debris. The role requires a deep understanding of terrain grading, machine handling, and adherence to engineering specifications and mine plans.
Daily responsibilities include conducting pre-operational equipment checks, maneuvering dozers across rough terrain, using GPS or laser-guided systems for precision work, and maintaining communication with supervisors and survey teams. The operator must ensure efficient and safe operations, especially when working near other machinery or in poor visibility.
Job Requirement:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Training and certification in heavy equipment operation, particularly bulldozers.
Minimum of 2 years of experience operating dozers in mining or construction.
Proficiency in reading terrain maps and mine site schematics.
Familiarity with GPS grading and machine control systems.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
Strong knowledge of safety regulations, including hazard recognition.
Physical stamina for long shifts in harsh outdoor environments.
